Gite for Two, your ideal break nestling on the Normandy/Pays-de-la-Loire border

Eat, drink and be merry
France is world-famous for its gastronomy, so any holiday here at your gite in France has got to include food and drink - and lots of it!  There are plenty of fine restaurants to try, offering local beef, seafood and innumerable cheeses, but this is farming country and the plats du jour available at local bars and restaurants are a lunchtime delight and great value for money.  Your hosts Jane and Mick have a list of their favourite eateries they will be happy to share with you.

Looking for your own place in France?
Situated right on the borders of Normandy, Brittany and Pays-de-la-Loire, La Passonière is the perfect holiday accommodation and base for your property hunt.  With the nearest Channel port of Caen (Ouistreham) and Dinard and Rennes airports all just 90 minutes away - and the seaside even closer - you will be ideally placed to search for your own piece of French heaven.  We can give you the benefit of our house-hunting experiences and we can also put you in contact with local English-speaking estate agents.  Whatever you are looking for, there's nothing like a bit of local knowledge to help you on the way!

"We booked a week in France to not only relax and get away from it all, but also to celebrate our pearl wedding anniversary. We managed to do both in this idyllic spot in rural France. Jane and Mick were very friendly and helpful, full of information and knowledge about the area. Jane is obviously very proud of her gite as she has thoughtfully kitted it out with everything you need and more."
Kirsty H. April 2013

"A beautiful place surrounded by birdsong and flowers – perfect for returning to after a day of cultural expeditions or walking/biking adventures. The weather was amazingly good and we have fallen in love with this part of France. Hope to come again!"
Eileen and Bob, May 2012

"We had a fabulous stay in this lovely, cosy cottage in spite of the cool (for folks from Arizona) weather. The accommodation was perfect, very well maintained and comfortable with everything we could possibly need. The wood-burner ensured warmth on cool days and the garden was perfect for alfresco meals. The surrounding area was very pretty, with luscious green fields and contented cows. A perfect holiday spot for peace and serenity." Grace M, May 2012

"We have walked and driven through the wide open spaces of this rural idyll of cows, corn and cottages. We have wined, dined and slept well. All achieved through the expert local knowledge on hand from Jane and Mick and from the comfort of La Passonière – so thoughtfully equipped, so as to make life here easy. We came looking for peace and quiet and we were not disappointed. Thank you."
Jenny and Tony, September 2010

"The best place to stay in France! Felt like home. Jane and Mick are perfect hosts and we felt very welcome. May the rocking chair keep rocking!"
